Time"
April 1 - May 31
Regular admission rates apply |
Quilting has long
been a mainstay of Appalachian culture and
heritage. For centuries, quilts have not
only been used for warmth, but also as adornment
and even as a method of communication.
Over 150 quilts will be on display offering an
endless array of styles and patterns, each with
its own "personality." Of special interest
will be author Jane Hicks' quilt creations.
Look for her entries in the show and attend her
poetry-reading on May 10. Schedule guided
group tours by calling (276)523-1322. |

Put on your walking shoes and take a stroll with
a Park Ranger to look at the trees as they awake
from their long winter's nap. Learn how to
identify a variety of trees by looking at their
leaves, bark, and blossoms. Use different
tools to estimate a tree's age. This walk
will take you around the museum's grounds and
onto the Town's greenbelt. Dress
appropriately for the weather and bring water.
Approximate walking distance will be 2 miles
round trip.
Program is free. |
