the museum lawn for fun outdoor games from days
gone by. Play the Game of Graces, make a
whimmydiddle or a moon spinner; join a game of
Red Rover or try your hand at Croquet.
Hand-squeezed lemonade will be served.

with local crafters who demonstrate a
variety of skills that are synonymous with
mountain life. From bee-keeping to
quilting bees, there will be something for
everyone at this educational and entertaining
event! This event is

Tisket, A Tasket

As
part of the Appalachian Folk Festival, local
basket maker Gary Carroll will provide an
introduction to making traditional Appalachian
baskets. Gary will discuss his process for
finding and cutting native plant materials and
will demonstrate basic basket weaving
techniques. Participants will be able to
try their hand at weaving and will learn about
the rich tradition of basket arts in the
Appalachians.
Fee: $10.00 per adult participant.
