
~ A Rental Facility for Gatherings/Meetings
- Smoking is not permitted in any area of
the museum. Persons wishing to do so must exit the building and proceed to a
designated area. Sand urns will be provided for smoking material disposal.
- Decorations must be free standing. No
decorations, signs, etc. may be hung from or on walls, woodwork, stairways,
pictures, windows, light fixtures or ceilings in the museum.
- Live plants are allowed for decorations.
The plants must be in a pot or vase with a drip pan underneath. The live
plants are not to be placed in the windowsills.
- Candles are allowed as decorations but
may not be lit. Only sterno will be allowed for heating food in chafing
dishes.
- Rental parties are responsible for
providing their own electrical extension cords.
- Food is only allowed in the basement
area.
- Coasters or napkins are required under
any beverage container if placed on woodwork or furniture.
- If rental parties wish to tour the
museum, there will be an additional fee.
- No pets are allowed inside the museum.
Pets are allowed on the grounds, but must be on a leash, supervised, and
cleaned up after.
- Alcohol beverages are allowed for private
functions, but a special permit must be obtained from the Alcohol Beverage
Control Board. Park personnel will have the necessary information on how to
obtain an ABC License. A copy of the permit must be submitted to the park
staff before the event is held.
- The renter will be provided with a clean
facility. It is the renter's responsibility to return the facility in a like
manner. The renter must supply all supplies and equipment necessary to clean
the facility. The renter is also responsible for the removal of all
decorations and garbage from the facility.
- Music and entertainment must be kept at
an acceptable noise level.
- There is parking available for unloading.
Vehicles should be moved prior to event. The parking is limited to street
parking. We suggest that groups may wish to car pool to the event.
- The park phone is available for
emergencies only. Please contact a park employee in the event of an
emergency.
- The renter is liable for damages to the
museum and Victorian Parlor. The renter is also responsible for damages
incurred by his or her guest or contract labor such as caterers, florist
and/or decorators. Cost of repairs or replacement will be charged to the
renter.
- All Virginia State Park Regulations apply
to all events. For a copy of the regulations, please call or stop by the
museum.
